The citrus fruits continue, ft. the Mermaid Perfume No. 2 collection
Happy Friday, all! After four extremely long days in Wilmington, Delaware (which is apparently known as the “Murder Town,” by the way) on business, I’m finally back home with a review about the Mermaid No. 2 Shine Spray and Perfume.
Mermaid Perfume’s products are great in the sense that their products are grouped by “scent” collection. So if you really love one of their perfumes, you can pick up hair products with the same scent. I chose the No. 2 collection because I was particularly drawn towards the warm, sweetness of the scent. And let me tell you - it’s confectionery and delicious.
I feel like this scent may be a bit sweet for those who prefer darker or fresher scents. It’s a sickly sweet, creamy vanilla scent, but in a good way in my opinion. I love that the scent fades into the background quickly and becomes in a sense, a part of you. It’s warm and very comforting to me. Plus, the sweetness of the perfume gives me the sugary boost I need to get through the post-lunch sleepiness, sans the calories.
The perfume comes in a pretty large, 2 oz. bottle. It’s a generous amount. The spray is pretty watery, and dispenses a bit heavy handed but quickly dries down.
I particularly loved the Shine Spray. It’s a very fine hair mist - almost like a hair perfume - but also makes my hair super soft. It didn’t do anything for frizz but I don’t think it’s intended to. I spritz this in my hair along with a salt spray, and tie my hair up in a bun on days where I don’t feel like doing my hair. The result, nice beachy waves - like mermaid hair.
Special thanks to Mermaid Perfume for sending me these products! I’ve been using these two products daily since I received them. I hope to try out the No. 1 and No. 3 collections in the near future.
Until next time, Megan.
