Changing of the Seasons: Mun Anarose Hydrating Toner Review
Helloooo, August. It's already beginning to feel like fall here in Northern California. We've been greeted with cloudy weather, higher levels of humidity, and cold nights. It's the changing of the seasons.. & my skin is not taking it well. Lately, my skin has been super sensitive & red around my cheeks and I suspect the constant fluxes between hot & cold weather are to blame.
One product that has been helping soothe the irritation is this Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner from MUN skincare that I purchased through July's Palm BFF collaboration. If you're not familiar with Palm, it's a network that connects influencers to brands related to lifestyle & wellness, clean beauty, and fashion. You simply sign up and you can get access to their monthly product picks at an insanely discounted price. It's a lifesaver for skincare junkies that want to continuously test products but are easily warded off by luxury pricing. I was able to purchase this toner for $16 vs. the retail price of $65. So definitely check out Palm if you're interested! (It would also mean a great deal to me if you mention that theopalgray recommended you in the sign-up form!) Now let's get to the review.
I love toners that come in mist bottles because it saves time & money to simply spray the product on your face. I never use cotton rounds to apply toner. Plus, I put all my trust in micellar water & Glossier's Milky Jelly Cleanser to remove all traces of makeup off my skin. The Anarose toner is definitely a luxury over a necessity. Do I really need a $65 toner? No. The Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist works just as well and is about half the price. However, I'm glad I got to try MUN skincare! The toner is formulated with Bulgarian rosewater, hyaluronic acid, willow bark extract, goji berry extract, aloe vera juice, a blend of rose, jasmine, & daisy flower extracts, & my superstar ingredient at the moment: prickly pear stem extract. All the ingredients are intended to soothe, hydrate, smooth, and clarify--thus, making it a great pH balancing toner for those who want to incorporate anti-aging products into their routines.
I used this toner a lot when I was suffering from a sunburn on my face (first-time ever guys & believe me, it was a hot mess...) The peeling phase left my skin very raw and itchy so I cannot stress how much this toner helped repair and calm my inflamed skin. In terms of the packaging, the spray is not as fine, really more concentrated, so I wouldn't use this as a setting spray after makeup. As a toner & mist for no-makeup days, it's perfect for dispensing enough product to cover my entire face.
Overall, I would recommend this product if you have really sensitive skin. I also do believe that this toner will be beneficial in the long-run for those who are looking for age prevention products as it is very hydrating & gentle in terms of its ability to promote cell turnover.
Until next time, Megan.
