Lately, I've been loving certain combinations--whether it be fragrances, makeup, accessories. So today, I want to show you how I layer my favorite clothing pieces, jewelry, makeup, and fragrance to achieve my everyday signature style.
Byredo Belle de Tanger, Commodity Fragrances Magnolia
Citrus + Floral
A perfect fragrance combination for the summertime. Byredo's Belle de Tanger eau de parfum is this spicy, citrus scent that can come off a bit strong at times. Some days, when I want something lighter, I like to layer this scent with Commodity's Magnolia eau de parfum. The fresh floral scent balances out the spicy citrus notes. I'm obsessed with the pair.
Who What Wear x Target Striped Blouse, Pacsun Mom Jeans, Everlane Day Heel
Stripes + Flared Jeans
With my short frame, it's super hard for me to find jeans and blouses that don't make me look like I'm drowning in fabric. Honest to god, I've been rocking the "oversized" look with my clothing for years. People think it's intentional, but it's not. One style trend I've always wanted to try is that baggy, flared jeans look I see bloggers & models wear all the time. When achieved perfectly, it actually looks fitted & makes your legs look super long, an illusion I desperately need to master. My sister recommended these mom jeans from Pacsun that are a light-washed denim with a frayed hem at the bottom. (The OOTD will be featured in my upcoming SF travel post. Stay tuned!) I got them for 70% off, so they ended up being $16. An amazing budget buy! My favorite way to wear these jeans is to layer a striped blouse over it for a super breezy, yet structured look. Since the jeans are high-waisted, I like to half tuck or tie the ends of the blouse and slip on the Everlane Day Heel to give my short legs an extra boost.
Glossier Haloscope in Topaz, Milk Makeup Flex Concealer, Thrifted Bronze Ring, American Apparel Bracelet
Bronze + Gold
On the days that I don't feel like wearing a lot of makeup, I live off of concealer & this bronze highlighter. I like to just focus on the areas when I am more prone to redness or blemishes and then swipe some Haloscope in Topaz on the cheekbones, cupids bow, bridge of my nose, & eyelids for a bronzey, sunkissed makeup look.
I usually don't wear jewelry on a daily basis, not because I don't like to but because I always forget to before I leave the house. For that reason, I like to keep my accessories as simple as possible. My favorite combination at the moment is this thrifted bronze ring & this American Apparel gold bracelet with a blue diamond at the clasp. I find that the warm toned metals pair nicely with my tan skin in the summertime.
What are your favorite style combinations?
Until next time, Megan.
