Heat OUAI-ve: Get Perfect Summer Hair with Ouai + QVC's Beauty iQ

In the simple fashion of Cleveland from Family Guy, "Hey y'allllll."

Today I want to talk about attaining the perfect, tousled summer hair---because you can have texture, without the frizz. Recently, I've partnered with QVC & Beauty iQ to talk about their recent launch of Ouai hair products on Special thanks to Alli for sending these beauties my way! They have the entire Ouai collection on PLUS some amazing value kits that are exclusive to the site and are truly a great bang for your buck. You can check that out here. And so, without further ado, let's talk about some of these products.

Dry Shampoo Foam $28, Texturizing Hair Spray $26

Ouai products are definitely on the pricier side. However, they are well worth the price! The Dry Shampoo Foam is truly revolutionary, unlike any dry shampoo product I have ever used. I've tried a mini bottle of this in the past and I can safely say that is has lasted me a pretty long time, so I believe the full-size will last me a few months tops. The first time I used this, I thought that it made my hair greasier because it leaves hair sort of damp . As we all know, oily hair and water are not a good combination. I'm that type of person where I can't stand oily hair. I have dark, thick, super-straight hair (super common with Asians) that can look super oily easily. However, take it from me, this product keeps its promise about keeping the oils at bay. I simply combed the product through my hair after working it in with my fingers, gave it a minute or two to dry, and I had "first day hair" again. Like magic!! I would recommend that you use a ping pong ball sized amount as instructed. It's really all you need.

The Texturizing Hair Spray is as if dry shampoo and hair spray had a baby. I'm definitely not the first person to say that. It leaves a matte texture to hair that feels slightly powdery yet perfectly translucent. I expected the product to leave a white cast, but to my surprise my hair did not become ashy at all. If you have hair that relentlessly falls flat like mine, you will want to give this product a shot. My continuous struggle with styling products is that they never work on my hair. However, all the products I have tried from Ouai have given me great results. This one is no different. I have a feeling that I will be using this texturizing spray a lot this summer because it doesn't make my hair frizzy or sticky like sea salt sprays tend to do. I've found that this product works best when sprayed from the root to mid-shaft of the hair for volume and body. Also, it's best to hold the bottle about 6 inches away when spraying, so that the product is distributed evenly throughout your hair. It has a weaker hold as a hairspray, but it's super effective for those effortlessly messy, tousled hairstyles. And sometimes, you just have to let your hair fall the way it wants to.

Treatment Masque (8 foil packettes) $32

The last product I want to talk about is the Treatment Masque. Hair masks have been on the rise to popularity for awhile now and while this small packet may not seem like enough product, it packs a punch. I only needed to use a third of the packet for my medium-long hair. The product itself has a smooth, creamy texture that distributes well throughout wet hair. It's like a conditioner on steroids and is super hydrating. I only leave the mask on for about 5 minutes, but it works fast. My hair feels really soft and silky after using it. It also untangles my hair really well. Since it is on the pricier side, I would use this hair treatment sparingly, probably once a week, when my ends start to feel really dry. I never thought that I would incorporate a hair mask into my haircare routine, but Ouai products have made me a firm believer.

All of these products have that gorgeous floral scent that is iconic to Ouai products. Admittedly, the scent is a bit overwhelming when first applied, but it fades relatively quick. However, if you're really sensitive to fragrance, I wouldn't recommend these products. If you're not, these three high-quality products are certainly worth trying.

Thanks again to QVC & Beauty iQ for partnering with me! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Until next time, Megan.
